So Your Neighbor Is Building.....
It's NYC. Construction is simply unavoidable. But if you are reading this page it's likely because your neighbor has decided to build a new building or expand their building and the project is going to have an impact on you. We are NYC's only firm that exclusively specializes in protecting the interests of property owners when their neighbor is building adjacent to them.
There are a lot of reasons to reach out to us to learn more about how we can help you navigate the process of protecting your property, your occupants and your pocketbook.
We have a team of attorneys, licensed architects and engineers, insurance and building code experts available to you.
We make sure your neighbor has put together a plan to build safely.
We make sure your neighbor has the right insurance to protect you in the event of an accident.
We make sure you get fairly compensated if your neighbor requests access to your property during construction -- In other words we will make sure you get paid for the use of your property.
We ensure you have a legal agreement that requires your neighbor to fix any damage they may cause.
We will organize for a pre-construction survey to document the condition of your property before construction starts.
When appropriate we will install digital vibration and crack monitors on your property to ensure even the most minimal damage is noticed and corrected promptly - or that work is stopped and methods are addressed to avoid further damage.
No Cost To You
Our services will never cost you a dollar - and in many cases we will negotiate fair compensation to you for the access to your property that your neighbor requests.

Adam Courtney comes from three generations of real estate developers and builders in Tucson, Arizona, and New York City is where he chose to start his real estate career.
After 12 years of experience in New York real estate sales, development and construction, Adam recognized an unfulfilled need in the rapidly growing world of New York City construction. He founded Neighbor Advisors to fill that need. The incredible pace of growth and new construction in New York City has many residents feeling overwhelmed and has left property owners with buildings adjacent to new construction vulnerable to numerous potential problems.
Neighbor Advisors has helped clients with issues such as damage arising from excavation and construction, and connects clients when necessary to qualified professionals for legal and engineering services. On behalf of their clients Neighbor Advisors monitors the neighboring construction process from start to finish, ensuring that any damages are repaired and their clients’ property is returned to its pre-construction condition.
Adam holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the New School in New York and a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern California, and has lived in Brooklyn for 20 years.
